By giving children functional access to resources in their home (e.g. low clothes hooks, small step stools, accessible washing stations), you support their natural drive to do tasks for themselves.
Home Prep Tips
- Put keys, shoes, and coats at child height
- Keep small cleaning cloths/brushes available for spills
- Limit toy options on low shelves to protect focus
- Involve children directly in sorting laundry and preparing snacks
